Purple Peep-le Eater

Purple Peep-le Eater

Are you ready for this year’s Easter abomination?

Don’t get eaten by this colorful but risky drink…

  • 1 oz Chambord
  • 1 oz Frangelico
  • 1 oz Vodka
  • peep, ribbon, balloons

Chill and shake the ingredients, close your eyes and think of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!

Peepdriver

Peepdriver

A peeple-pleasing twist on a classic staple beverage – great for “Thirsty Thursday”, and especially refreshing in Spring and Summer!

  • 2oz vodka, over ice
  • 2oz fresh-squeezed O.J.
  • 1 classic peep
  • 1 stirrer to impale the peep

Green Peepsenthe

Green Peepsenthe

The traditional drink for ear-cutting, hallucinatory, suicidal artistic types, Absenthe needs its turn through the Peep Factory.

Whether you consider the French or the Swiss to be the “original,” just be sure to use the European “real stuff.” There are some watered-down American versions with less of the trippy wormwood, the mildly psychoactive ingredient that makes it fun.

  • 2oz Absenthe
  • 1oz icewater
  • tumbler with several ice cubes
  • stir to enjoy the “luge” (transition from clear to milky-opaque)
  • do something unpredictable to the green peep

Teriyaki Shochu Peep

Teriyaki Shochu Peep

The Japanese call it “Shochu”. The Koreans call it “Soju”. Kinda like the Russians’ “Wodka”. Or the Hillbillies’ “Hootch”.

But straight distilled grain spirits by any other name would still be Peeptastic in our book!

  • 2oz Japanese Rice Liquor
  • over ice
  • 1 slice Pink Grapefruit
  • 1 skewer of impaled peeps, assorted colors

We choose to plate this with gently steamed broccoli florets, drizzled in a Yuzu Teriyaki sauce.

Peep Eraser

Peep Eraser

Perfect for Memorial Day parties, this college classic never gets old. Or, if it does, I can’t seem to remember it.

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz Kahlúa
  • 1 oz club soda
  • 1 reckless peep
  • 1 drinking straw
Pour vodka into a short, wide glass.  Next is the trickiest part – with the glass on table, very gently pour in a little Kahlúa.  To get the “layer” effect, it must be added extremely gently.  The best way is to hold a spoon in the glass, just above the surface of the vodka, and pour the tequila onto the spoon, letting it trickle down.  The Kahlúa is heavier, so it will sink below the vodka.  Think “eye-dropper”, it really has to be that slow.  You may be able to use the edge of the glass to help.
Once you’ve got those two layers, do the same thing with a little bit of club soda or seltzer.  Viewed from the side, you should be able to see all three layers (the vodka will be swirly).
Don’t forget to add the peep, for moral support.
To drink this peepcoction, hold the straw vertically, lean over the glass, and put a straw all the way to the bottom.  Suck the entire drink through the straw all at once — you’ll have a great view, as the dark Kahlúa disappears and the drink turns clear.  If you do it all at once, the first thing you taste is coffee, and the club soda at the end will clear and refresh your palate.
Just don’t have too many…

PeepMoPolitan 2006

PeepMoPolitan 2006

Nothing screams “oOoOOOOoOh, I’m sOoOoO drunk, take me home” like a Peepmopolitan.  Classic back in 2006, and still a staple in 2011.

Peepikaze 2006

Peepikaze 2006

Ok, so we know the “production values” on the 2006 site aren’t quite up to the 2011 standards… but still, there’s charm, right?

Fine.  Just leave me alone and enjoy the damn peeps. Stop making fun of me.

Peep Float 2006

Peep Float 2006

Gin with some kind of colored liquor (Chambord?) … we can’t remember…

Melon Peep 2006

Melon Peep 2006

Of all the crazy concoctions, this was actually one of the few that truly tasted good.  Honest!  It was more-or-less a Melon Ball:  Midori, Orange Juice, Vodka (a LOT, to cover the rest of the tastes), and of course a sugar rim with peep.
